Using the train in Amsterdam .

Amsterdam has 15 trainstations and tje railway network is operated by the Dutch national railway company, Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS).

On all forms of public transport and with all operators nationwide, the ticket used is called an ov-chipkaart (public transport smart card). You can either get a personalised card or a general one which you deposit money on.

You can travel directly from Amsterdam to six European cities and back.

ICEs: will take you to Berlin, Frankfurt and Basel

Basel: will take you to Paris

Eurostar: will take you to London

International intercity: will take you to Brussel, and the on to Brussels Airport
